Radikon Twelve-Pack: A Library of Oslavia
Radikon: A Library of Oslavia
This twelve-bottle case is a deep study of Radikon, one of the defining estates of Oslavia and one of the producers that gave skin-contact wine its modern cultural weight.
Built around the Friulian-Slovenian border, the selection brings together the full architecture of Radikon: the rare Ribolla 3781 2008, the historic 500ml wines, the long-aged reds, and two vintages of the Saša line. It is not simply a mixed case. It is a library of texture, time, and place.
At the centre is Ribolla 3781 2008, Radikon’s most rare and monumental expression of Ribolla Gialla. With long skin contact, extended barrel ageing and more than a decade of bottle evolution, it gives the case its highest point of intensity and historical depth.
The 500ml classics, Ribolla 2020, Jakot 2020 and Oslavje 2020, show the core language of the estate: amber colour, long maceration, savoury structure, phenolic grip and extraordinary gastronomic range. The 2020 vintage adds its own character to the trio, combining concentration with freshness and giving the wines both immediate presence and long ageing potential. Each wine speaks differently. Ribolla is vertical and tannic. Jakot is nutty, herbal and deeply savoury. Oslavje is broader, more aromatic and more enveloping. Together, they offer a focused snapshot of how Radikon’s classic wines interpreted the 2020 growing season in Oslavia.
The mature reds, Pignoli 2014 and Merlot 2010, bring another dimension to the case. These are not soft or conventional red wines, but long-aged, deeply textural expressions shaped by time in wood and bottle. Pignoli gives structure, austerity and Friulian bite. Merlot brings depth, earth, maturity and savoury power.
The Saša line appears across two vintages, with Slatnik 2022, Sivi 2022, RS 2022, Slatnik 2023, Sivi 2023 and RS 2023. This gives the case a rare comparative angle: two consecutive readings of Radikon’s more current line, still fully serious, still unmistakably Oslavia, but with a more immediate frame than the long-aged 500ml wines. Slatnik shows Chardonnay and Friulano through texture and amber depth. Sivi reveals Pinot Grigio as ramato, saline and structured. RS gives the red counterpart, where Merlot and Pignolo combine fruit, tannin and savoury grip.
Together, the twelve wines offer a complete view of Radikon: the rare, the mature, the classic and the current. This is not orange wine as a trend. This is orange wine as origin, carried through one of the estates that made the style serious, age-worthy and deeply gastronomic.
A twelve-bottle Radikon library case, bringing together 3781, mature 500ml reds, the classic macerated whites and two vintages of the Saša line. A complete study of Oslavia through texture, tannin, time and place.
