2024 Poderi del Paradiso Vernaccia di San Gimignano

From the hills of San Gimignano in central Tuscany, Poderi del Paradiso’s Vernaccia captures the freshness, clarity, and quiet mineral character of one of Italy’s most historic white appellations. Grown at around 280 metres above sea level on Pliocene sandy soils with south-east exposure, it is made from 100% Vernaccia di San Gimignano from vines ranging between 5 and 35 years of age. 

The wine is softly pressed with brief skin contact, followed by low-temperature clarification and fermentation in stainless steel at 15°C for around 30 days. It then rests on fine lees for 60 days, adding subtle texture while preserving brightness and varietal purity. 

In the glass, it shows a pale straw-yellow colour, tending toward golden tones with age. The nose is fine and intense, with citrus, broom, mimosa, herbal notes, and a flinty mineral edge. On the palate, it is dry, fresh, well-structured, and persistent, closing with the classic bitter almond finish typical of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

A precise and traditional Tuscan white, balancing floral lift, mineral tension, and savoury freshness.

Perfect with fish dishes, white meats, and aperitifs.
