2024 Foradori Teroldego
Foradori’s estate Teroldego is the foundation of the entire project. Before Granato, before the single-vineyard wines and before the amphora experiments, this is the wine that carries the everyday voice of Campo Rotaliano: Teroldego grown on alluvial soils, shaped by mountain air, river stones and one of Italy’s most important stories of varietal recovery.
Elisabetta Foradori is central to that story. When she took charge of the estate in the 1980s, Teroldego was often treated as a productive local grape rather than a variety of serious identity. Through massal selection, biodynamic farming and years of close observation, she helped restore its dignity, complexity and genetic diversity. This wine is the direct expression of that work: not the most rare Foradori, but the clearest introduction to the grape she helped bring back to international attention.
Made from 100% Teroldego, the fruit comes from several estate parcels in Mezzolombardo, in the heart of Campo Rotaliano. The soils are alluvial, gravelly and sandy, shaped by the Noce River, giving the wine both dark fruit and mineral freshness. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks, followed by 12 months of maturation in wood and cement.
There are no tinajas here. The estate Teroldego is not about amphora texture or single-site interpretation. It is about the pure, direct expression of Teroldego across the wider Foradori holdings: fresh, dark-fruited, floral and structured without heaviness.
In the glass, the 2024 shows a bright ruby-purple colour. The nose is vivid and clean, with blackberry, plum, violet, raspberry, pomegranate, pepper and a light earthy note. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and energetic, with juicy dark fruit, fine tannins and a fresh, savoury finish.
This is the essential Foradori red: serious enough to show why Teroldego matters, but approachable enough to drink young. It introduces the estate’s language with clarity, freshness and quiet confidence.
