2023 Radikon 'Slatnik'
Slatnik is Radikon’s white blend made from Chardonnay and Friulano. Co-fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak vats, given 10 to 14 days of maceration, then aged for one year in large Slavonian oak botti before bottling without filtration and with minimal sulphur.
In the glass, it shows a golden-amber colour. The nose is broad and complex, with ripe yellow apple, apricot, citrus peel, orange marmalade, dried flowers, alpine herbs, rock salt, and a savoury edge. On the palate, it is dry, structured, and textural, with gentle tannic grip, fresh acidity, and a long, saline finish.
This is a serious macerated white with real presence and unmistakably Radikon in its texture, savoury depth, and ability to carry food.
Perfect with roast chicken, pork, mushrooms, aged cheeses, charcuterie, rich vegetable dishes, and Friulian-style cuisine.
