2023 Radikon 'Sivi' Pinot Grigio
Sivi is Radikon’s Pinot Grigio in its true grey-skinned form. The name means “grey” in Slovenian, referring to the natural colour of the grape’s skins, and the wine is vinified with maceration to reveal a copper-toned, structured, gastronomic side of Pinot Grigio that has almost nothing to do with neutral commercial examples of the variety. We have spontaneous fermentation in oak vats, ageing in large botti, no filtration, and minimal sulphur.
In the glass, it shows a copper-pink colour with amber reflections. The nose is layered and distinctive, with blood orange, red apple skin, wild strawberry, dried flowers, tea, herbs, and gentle spice. On the palate, it is dry, savoury, and lightly tannic, with fine grip, bright acidity, and a long mineral finish.
This is Pinot Grigio with seriousness and identity: tactile, saline, structured, and deeply gastronomic. It has the immediacy of the S line, but also the unmistakable density and confidence of Radikon.
Perfect with charcuterie, roast poultry, pork, mushrooms, aged cheeses, grilled vegetables, and richer fish dishes.
