2023 Foradori 'Sgarzon' Teroldego

From the cooler reaches of Campo Rotaliano in Mezzolombardo, 'Sgarzon' shows the more lighter shade of Teroldego. The name means “shoot” in local dialect, a reference to the natural vigour of the vines in this 2.5-hectare vineyard, where mostly sandy alluvial soils and a cooler microclimate bring unusual freshness and aromatic tension to the variety. 

Made from 100% Teroldego, the wine is fermented and aged in Spanish clay amphorae, with 8 months of skin contact. This long, gentle extraction preserves the wine’s energy while giving structure and depth, allowing 'Sgarzon' to stand in contrast to 'Morei' as the brighter, lighter more open expression of the grape. 

In the glass, it shows a vivid ruby-purple color. The nose is super expressive with wild berries, sour cherry, violet high notes and alpine herbs in background. On the palate, it is lush, has an open knit texture on a silky medium body and a long pure and satisfying finish.
