2023 Foradori 'Sgarzon' Teroldego

From the cooler reaches of Campo Rotaliano in Mezzolombardo, Sgarzon shows a more lifted and agile side of Teroldego. The name means “shoot” in local dialect, a reference to the natural vigour of the vines in this 2.5-hectare vineyard, where mostly sandy alluvial soils and a cooler microclimate bring unusual freshness and aromatic tension to the variety. 

Made from 100% Teroldego, the wine is fermented and aged in Spanish clay amphorae, with 8 months of skin contact. This long, gentle extraction preserves the wine’s energy while giving structure and depth, allowing Sgarzon to stand in contrast to Morei as the brighter, more vertical expression of the grape. 

In the glass, it shows a vivid ruby-purple color. The nose is fresh and expressive, with aromas of wild berries, sour cherry, violet, fresh herbs, and a subtle earthy-mineral edge. On the palate, it is vibrant and finely structured, with bright acidity, energetic tannins, and a long, cool-toned finish that emphasizes lift, purity, and definition.

A precise and high-energy expression of Teroldego, shaped more by freshness and movement than density alone.

Perfect with roasted poultry, pork, charcuterie, mushroom dishes, and alpine cuisine.
