2023 Foradori 'Fontanasanta' Nosiola
Subtle, textural, and deeply tied to Trentino tradition, Fontanasanta Nosiola is one of Foradori’s most contemplative whites — a wine built on patience, silence, and slow unfolding rather than immediate aromatic impact. An ancient local variety, once more widely planted across the region, Nosiola now survives in select areas where poor soils and careful farming allow it to express delicacy, structure, and remarkable longevity.
Made from 100% Nosiola grown on calcareous clay soils, the wine returns to an older local tradition of skin-contact vinification. Fermentation and ageing take place for 8 months on the skins in Spanish clay amphorae, whose porosity and shape allow the wine to develop slowly, gaining depth and structure without losing its fragile aromatic identity.
In the glass, it shows a deep golden color. The nose is subtle and evolving, with notes of dried citrus peel, chamomile, wild herbs, almond skin, and gentle oxidative nuances. On the palate, it is textured, savoury, and quietly intense, with fine phenolic grip, mineral tension, and a long, contemplative finish that opens gradually with air.
A white wine of patience rather than immediacy, Fontanasanta Nosiola is best given time in the glass and served a touch warmer than most whites, allowing its depth, structure, and ancient character to fully emerge.
Perfect with alpine cheeses, mushroom dishes, roasted poultry, freshwater fish, and richer vegetable preparations.
