2022 Boggero 'Fiore di Bosco' Barbera d'Asti Superiore

'Fiore di Bosco' is Boggero’s Barbera d’Asti Superiore from the village of Vaglio Serra, in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte.  The wine takes its name from the woodland bordering the vineyards. 

Made from 100% Barbera grown on sandy and clay soils, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak, then in French barriques for one year, followed by 3–4 months in bottle. The result is a fuller riper expression of Barbera, with depth, polish and the natural freshness that defines the variety.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour. The nose is deep with dark berries, ripe plum, cinnamon and a typical Barbera spice character. The palate is ripe, full-bodied and round with bright acidity,  a creamy texture underpinned by a fine backbone of light tannins and a long satisfying finish.

A great value for money Barbera d’Asti Superiore with richness and drinkability, suited to those who want Barbera with more depth than an everyday red while keeping freshness and drinkability.

Perfect with rich pasta dishes, roasted meats, game, grilled sausages and aged cheeses.
