2022 Foradori 'Granato' Teroldego

'Granato' is the deepest and most concentrated expression of Teroldego from Foradori. Its name draws a link between grapes and pomegranate, two fruits with shared Mediterranean origins, and reflects the wine’s natural sense of intensity, beauty, and density. Sourced from Foradori's oldest pergola-trained vines across three plots in Campo Rotaliano, it is a wine rooted in alluvial soils rich in gravel, stones, and pebbles. 

Made from 100% Teroldego, 'Granato' is fermented in large open oak vats and aged for 15 months in French tonneaux barrels.. The vineyard area covers around 4 hectares in the town of  Mezzolombardo, with an annual production of approximately 20,000 bottles. 

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-purple colour. The nose is deep, dark, layered, and precise, with notes of blackberry, black cherry, pomegranate, violet, sweet spice, and crushed stone. On the palate, it is ripe and dense with grand structured built around silky yet firm tannins perfectly balanced acidity. The wine is authoritative yet never heavy and retains delicacy and poise. The 2022 is a complete and complex wine that is a flag bearer for Alpine Italy.

This is Foradori’s flagship Teroldego. A wine of concentration, depth, and ageing potential, built from old vines and stony soils rather than extraction alone.
