2022 Château Beaumont Haut-Médoc, Cru Bourgeois Superieur

Château Beaumont is a well-established Haut-Médoc estate, located between Margaux and Saint-Julien. Its deep gravel soils favour Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 blend is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine matured for around 12-14 months in French oak, using a mix of new and second passage barrels.

Blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum dominate the nose, followed by graphite, cedar, violet and warm spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a firm Cabernet-driven structure. The finish is persistent and slightly mineral.

A great companion for grilled meats, roast beef, lamb, pork ribs, mushrooms or ragù preparations, or aged cheeses.
