2021 Poderi San Lazzaro 'Podere 72' Piceno Superiore, Montepulciano & Sangiovese

Podere 72 is a distinctive expression of Rosso Piceno Superiore, crafted from equal parts Montepulciano and Sangiovese grown in the clay-limestone soils of Offida. The vineyards, harvested in early October, benefit from a balanced ripening period that enhances both structure and aromatic clarity. Traditional winemaking with frequent pump-overs ensures depth and extraction, while aging for 16 months in French oak barriques, followed by bottle refinement before release; brings polish and integration.

In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby red color. The nose is refined and expressive, with notes of young red berries and wild forest fruits, supported by subtle hints of spice and gentle toasture. On the palate, the wine shows both structure and elegance, with a well-balanced profile where richness and freshness coexist, leading to a smooth, persistent finish.
