2025 Ochota Barrels 'Impeccabile Disorder' Pinot Noir
'Impeccable Disorder' is Ochota Barrels’ darker, wilder expression of Pinot Noir. The 2025 is made with 60% whole bunch and around 14 days on skins, giving the wine more texture, spice, and tension than the prettier side of Pinot. Production is tiny, with 633 bottles reported.
In the glass, it shows a bright but brooding ruby colour. The nose moves through sour cherry, dark cherry, rhubarb, boysenberry, thyme, earth, mushroom, and a distinctive gunpowder-like reduction. On the palate, it is elegant but charged, with fine granular tannins, lifted acidity, and a savoury, slightly feral finish.
This is Pinot Noir with edge: not polished softness, but tension, reduction, dark fruit, and beautiful disorder held in balance.
Perfect slightly chilled with duck, roast chicken, pork, mushrooms, charcuterie, game birds, and earthy vegetable dishes.
