2024 Luigi Maffini 'Kratos' Fiano

Kratos is Luigi Maffini’s pure expression of Fiano from Cilento, in southern Campania, where vineyards sit between the hills, the Mediterranean landscape and the ancient Greek heritage of Paestum. The name means “power” in Greek, that the wine expresses through brightness, texture and mineral energy rather than weight.

Made from 100% Fiano, Kratos is fermented and aged in stainless steel for 4 months on the fine lees. This preserves the variety’s aromatic clarity while adding gentle texture and depth.

In the glass, it shows a deep straw-yellow colour. The nose is expressive and sunlit, with exotic fruit, kiwi, citrus peel, honey, dried apricot, spring flowers and a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, with zesty citrus, ripe yellow fruit, fresh acidity and a savoury finish that keeps the wine lively and precise.

Perfect with seafood, shellfish, grilled fish, smoked salmon, fried seafood, white meats, fresh cheeses and vegetable antipasti.
