2024 Ca' Rugate 'Rio Albo' Valpolicella

Rio Albo is Ca' Rugate’s fresh and expressive Valpolicella from the hilly vineyards of Montecchia di Crosara, in the eastern part of the appellation. Made from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grown on limestone and pebble-rich soils, it captures the bright, fragrant and highly drinkable side of Valpolicella.

The wine is fermented on the skins for 7–10 days and matured in stainless steel, preserving the purity of fruit and the natural freshness of the blend. The style is direct, supple and food-friendly, with no excess weight and a clear focus on red fruit, freshness and balance.

In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red colour. The nose is lively and inviting, with cherry, blackberry, red berries, violet and a light spice note. On the palate, it is fresh and supple, with light tannins, juicy fruit and a clean, savoury finish.

A classic Valpolicella for everyday drinking, bright, agile and full of flavour, with enough charm for aperitivo and enough structure for the table.

Perfect with roast chicken, grilled pork, pizza, salumi, tomato-based pasta, hard cheeses and casual Italian dishes.
