2023 Fontanabianca Barbera d'Alba Superiore

Fontanabianca’s Barbera d’Alba Superiore comes from Neive, in the heart of the Langhe, where clay-limestone soils give Barbera both richness and freshness. This is a generous, polished expression of the grape, shaped by ripe fruit, natural acidity and a measured use of wood that adds depth without overwhelming the wine.

Made from 100% Barbera, the wine is vinified traditionally and aged for 1 year in large and small oak barrels. The result is a Barbera with more structure and refinement than a simple everyday red, while still keeping the variety’s bright, food-friendly character.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose is full and expressive, with plum, cherry, dark berries, peach skin, gentle spice and a light mineral note. On the palate, it is rich, fresh and rounded, with juicy fruit, soft tannins, lively acidity and a clean, persistent finish.
