2023 Cantine di Marzo Fiano di Avellino
Nestled in the hills of Irpinia, in the heart of Campania and less than 100 km from Naples, Cantine di Marzo’s Fiano di Avellino is made from the first pressing of the grapes, capturing only the finest and most expressive juice. Fermented with selected yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks and aged eight months on the lees, it gains structure, depth, and complexity.
The wine shows a pale yellow color with subtle green reflections. The nose opens with distinctive pear notes, evolving into banana and exotic fruits, followed by a delicate bouquet of white flowers — jasmine and lily. On the palate, almond notes give way to floral elegance, complemented by fresh lime and wild flower nuances, creating a bright, harmonious, and lingering finish.
Picture this wine like a Chardonnay wearing an Italian suit. Fiano can be extremely versatile at the table: it pairs beautifully with all kind of seafood entrées including sushi, light white meats in sauce, fried vegetables or fish, and is equally delightful as a refined aperitif with a mediterranean flair.
