2022 Villa Barcaroli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

There is an easy confidence to Montepulciano from Abruzzo: dark fruit, freshness, gentle rusticity and a natural place at the table. Villa Barcaroli’s 2022 comes from the Teramo area, between Controguerra and Ancarano, and captures this direct, generous character with a clean and highly drinkable style.

Made from Montepulciano grown on medium-textured soils, the wine is produced with organic, vegan and Demeter-certified credentials. The focus is on fruit, balance and everyday pleasure, with the variety’s natural depth supported by freshness and soft structure.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose is fruity and inviting, with red cherry, plum, blackberry and a light savoury note. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and smooth, with good tannin, bright fruit and a balanced finish.

A classic Abruzzese red: generous, uncomplicated and full of flavour, ideal for relaxed meals and everyday Italian cooking.

Perfect with pasta al ragù, pizza, grilled meats, sausages, salumi, roast vegetables and medium-aged cheeses.
