2020 Monte dall'Ora 'Camporenzo' Valpolicella Classico Superiore
From the hill of San Pietro in Cariano, in the Valpolicella Classica, Camporenzo is Monte Dall’Ora’s dedicated cru for Valpolicella Superiore. Grown on terraced vineyards with Eocene limestone and calcareous soils, this is a wine that captures the lighter, more agile side of Valpolicella while carrying the depth and maturity of a carefully aged release.
The blend is 50% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, and 20% Rondinella, farmed organically and biodynamically from pergola-trained vines. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and unlined cement, followed by ageing in 25 hl oak casks and further refinement in bottle.
In the glass, it shows a ruby red colour. The nose opens with ripe red cherry, sour cherry, menthol, and gentle spice. On the palate, it follows through with the same red-fruited character, lifted by freshness, sapidity, and an easy, flowing drinkability that keeps the wine energetic rather than heavy.
This is mature Valpolicella Superiore with balance and grace — not built on excess, but on red fruit, freshness, savoury detail, and the quiet complexity of bottle age.
Perfect as a versatile table wine, especially with traditional Veronese dishes such as soups, boiled meats, and white meats from the farmyard.
